Dear Ruthanne, I have just finished GOD OF LUCK. I cannot tell you how riveting and totally awesome your latest work is. It is very rare that one finds a book which leaves one so moved emotionally. To say that I couldn't put it down is an understatement. I could hardly wait for the ending and at the same time, I knew I would be sad to come to the end of the book because I loved it so! Ah Lung and Bo See were so beautifully drawn that I felt that I was Ah Lung and that I was Bo See. What a wonderful way to spend time with your work. Less is more and the words you so carefully chose to tell Ah Lung's story truly made me feel that I was right there with Ah Lung and Bo See. Also, it was an insight to give us details of your research for the historical basis of the book because as I was reading, I kept wondering,"Did she make this up out of her head?" I am so pleased that we will be seeing you in October. Best,
